I have essayist block. I need to think of a thesis for writing about Gerard Manley Hopkins poetry. I was thinking of either a formalilst approach where i focus on the musical influences from the Welsh language, or tracking influences either FROM Walter Pater and Matthew Arnold, Or TO Dylan Thomas. Any ideas? Thanks

I would go with the themes he used on "motherly love," and also the representations of the "woman's voice" in his work. The Welsh language is indeed musical and depending on what you're writing this specific paper for............. it might work great.
