Melba was born on Pearl Harbour Day. This is important because it meant great change in American history. Melba too would become a force for great change in American civil rights history. Melba barely survived her birth. It was thought a miracle when she survived. 15 years later Melba was selected to integrate Central High. Her Grandmother declared,
