Please tell me what are the main traits of main characters in Anne of Green Gables?

Marilla Cuthbert, along with her brother Matthew, take Anne into their home. Matthew initially wants to take in a young boy to help with the work around Green Gables, but he ends up with Anne instead. Marilla is strict, organized, and somewhat of a cold fish..... she is not demonstrative and does not show affection. She does, however, come to love Anne like her own child.
