After the victory at the "Battle of the Cowshed," the animals' loyalties are divided in regards to Napolean and Snowball. The latter plans to build a windmill, which in his opinion would create a wonderful opportunity for the comfort of the inhabitants of Animal Farm. The former accuses this plan of being merely another demand of hard work on the already worn animals. Snowball is driven out of the farm by Napolean's dogs, and Napolean becomes the undisputed leader with Squealer as his public official.
