Animal Farm is an animal fable which demonstrates through the use of characters in animal form that no matter how good intentions may be, people (in the form of the animal pigs) seek their own good - their own power. Napoleon (who is actually historically a representation of Josef Stalin) is ruthless in his grasping of power, using dogs to intimidate the other animals and using the group mentality of the sheep to control the actions of the other animals.
