Animal Farm

looking at the list of good leadership qualities made at the beginning of the novel, how do the pigs fit in this list? Were there any attributes that the pigs lacked? Did they have some that were not on the list?

Old Major holds a vote to decide whether domesticated animals should unite with wild animals. Only the dogs and the cat vote no, although the cat is not paying attention and votes twice. After the vote, Old Major crystallizes his point, stating: “Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.” He adds the additional point that, once they have achieved victory, animals must not emulate Man. They must not wear clothing, live in houses, or copy any of Man’s other “evil” habits.-from grade saver website

The pigs end up emulating man from the very beginning they read and learn how to write they pick it up easier than the other animals and eventually they break all the commandments that were originally made.
