Napoleon doesn't treat the animals any differently than Jones did. But unlike Jones, his tyrannical behavior doesn't stem from over drinking.... he's simply power hungry and wants his own way. Ironically, Napoleon does take on many of Jones' traits as the story progresses..... it almost seems as if he turns into him. He sleeps in Jones' bed, drinks his alcohol, eats his food, uses his dishes, wears his hat, and socializes with farmers from the neighborhood.
