• Introduction to reading well: learning how to get acquainted with a new work of literature by examining characters, tone and style; finding early themes; and appreciating the achievement of good writing.
• Introduction to thinking well: using the discussion questions to do more than just read.
• Introduction to speaking well: developing oral skills through development and discussion of thought questions.
Note that it is perfectly fine to expand any day’s work into two days depending on the characteristics of the class, particularly if the class will engage in all of the suggested classroom exercises and activities...
