What is significant about Grandma's House

I am doing an assignment where i need a quote about the significance of grandma's house in the story. any suggestions for the quote or where to find it?

Grandma's house was crowded. Because of poverty many people lived there. A humorous line in the story is when Grandma gets angry at Aunt Aggie because she complains the two will have to sleep together that night,

"Oh will you shut your gob. Tis only for one night and that won't kill you....Jesus Mary and Holy St. Joseph look at this house..."

She goes on to list how crowded the house. You can find it in Ch.1. Pg. 58 (in my text)
