And Then There Were None

Why might Philip Lombard in “And Then There Were None” be seen as suspicious or evil?

As the title shows, I need examples or reasons why Philip Lombard can be seen as U.N. Owen, even though I know that he is not U.N. Owen. I need examples on what raises suspicion upon Lombard and how he may be dangerous.

Text evidence is appreciated!

Lombard is a soldier of fortune. He is responsible for the deaths of a native African tribe. Killing so many people in the past makes him a suspect.
