All Quiet on the Western Front

Explain and interpret the major war experiences, and how they change the young soldier's lives and perception of war?

Going to have a test over this soon and this makes no sense to me.

War experience made young boys old before their time. They suffered a loss of innocence they would never regain. They lost friends, family, limbs, and sanity. Most would go onto leave their lives, but most would also carry their experiences with them for the rest of their lives.
