After they finish cards, Kat suggests they find some geese. They ride out to a shed belonging to a regimental headquarters. Kat hoists Paul over a wall, and Paul finds two geese. They are able to get one goose. They eat the tasty meat and smoke afterward, then give the leftovers to the grateful Kropp and Tjaden before retiring.
