what was goerge motive in vissiting the kellers? how did this affect the outcome of the play?

act three

he come to prevent ann to marry from chris because his father " keller" is a killer.

George is only around for act 2. Yes he visits the Kellers and quickly forbids Ann from marrying Chris, "because his father destroyed your family." George certainly raises the conflicts and stress levels but I don't think he actually changes the outcome of the play.
