chris to anne : " Oh anne ... i'm going to make a fortune for you " what does it tell us about the character attitude to money ?

Chris desperately wants Ann to be his girl. Although the most socially idealistic character in the play, this shows Chris valuing money as a means to attain love. Money drives many of the undertones of the play. Identity through money and guilt because of money are ever present.
