Alias Grace is a historical fiction novel written by Margaret Atwood and was first published by McClelland & Stewart on September 1996. The first UK edition was distributed by Bloomsbury Publishing PLC.

The novel follows the perspective of Grace Marks, a suspect in the murder of Thomas Kinnear and Nancy Montgomery . The dual perspective also details Dr Simon Jordan's desire to solve and understand the criminal mentality of Grace as he tries to comprehend how a meek and mild servant girl like her could have committed the murder.

The book has had many positive reviews, winning the Canadian Giller Prize and becoming shortlisted for the Booker Prize.

The novel has also been optioned for a feature film in 2012 and will be directed by Canadian film director Sarah Polley.
