Kitty is all about business and position. She believes that everyone should follow her lead and her wishes. When she decides that certain books should be eliminated from the library (censorship), she automatically believes that her wishes (orders) should be followed..... she was wrong. Kitty is a racist, but she is also influential. None-the-less, when backed into a corner, she backs off...... she doesn't push anything so far as it will affect her husband's business.
