agamemnon's sacrifice

I understand (sort of) why agamemnon needs to sacrifice his daughter Iphigeneia in order to get safe sailing to troy. Is this sacrifice worth the cost?

Agamemnon is often viewed as too ambitious for his own good. He continues the curse on his house through his treatment of Iphigeneia and so ultimately it is not worth the cost.
