Compare two of the characters in “Across Five April’s.” How are these two characters similar in their thoughts or perceptions? How are they different?

Let us consider siblings Jethro and Jenny Creighton. Jethro, the protagonist, during the Civil War. Jethro has many hurdles along the way, including the death of a family member, and the ever fated loss of innocence at the end of his coming of age. Jenny is the sister of Jethro with whom he suffers through the war with. They are the only two of their brothers and sisters who are not fighting in the war, so they are all that they have. Both have to contend with sharp divisions in the community over the war and the subject of slavery. They both process what is happening in different ways but share a common value system.
