According to IT Camazotz is like paradise,

"Why do you think we have wars at home [on Earth]? Why do you think people get confused and unhappy? Because they all live their own, separate, individual lives. I've been trying to explain to you in the simplest possible way that on Camazotz individuals have been done away with. Camazotz is ONE mind. It's IT. And that's why everybody's so happy and efficient."

This seems kind of peaceful but only because a higher power controls everything and everybody. Any deviation from a prescribed norm is purged of destroyed. It looks like a utopia on the surface but if anybody wants individual freedom of anything, it becomes a dystopia. Our lives, in the Western world, are much different. We supposedly have "free will" and are not killed if we are different. Camazotz is an allegory to ideas or religions that demand conformity without thought.
