The beasts speak a different language, and instead of using speech as we know it, they communicate through their tentacles. The Beasts' language is simpke and forthright, unlike the complex descriptions used by humans. They do not see, thus, they do not know what things look like, but rather, what things are like. The sight of humans and the perception of the beasts are two completely different things.
