You wanted information from "A Dolls House," correct? Symbolism in this novel can be found in the form of the Christmas tree and New Year's Day. The tree is something pretty to look at, just like Nora. New Year's Day represents new beginnings, but as the novel progresses we become aware that what we thought were their new beginnings (jobs, money, and debt repayment) are not what it symbolizes at all. The two aren't facing a restart that involves the things they believe will "make" them happy, but rather the life changes necessary to having a real, loving, and fulfilled lives.
