The burqa is a symbol of the status of women.... a symbol of oppression... imprisonment. The Taliban's intent in making it law for a woman to wear the burqua is a statement that the women have no rights... the they should not be seen or heard.
"Attention women: You will stay in your homes at all times.
"You will not, under any circumstances show your face. You will cover with the burqa when outside. If you do not, you will be severly beaten.
