Rasheed gives Miriam a burqa and tells her that "a woman's face is her husband's business only". This tells us that Rasheed feels his wife belongs in the home and should abide by Muslim law outside the home. Rasheed sees himself as the only focus for his wife's life. In other words, there is no life outside their home.
