How does Laila's family differ from Tariq's and why?

laila spends a lot of time with Tariq's family and enjoys it but what's the difference between the families?

Tarique's family is mich closer than Laila's. She loves the fact that they eat together and enjoy each other's company. Laila doesn't enjoy this affection in her own family.
