Stella loves her husband.... period. She sees his faults and loves him for them. They fight, they make-up, and they fight again..... and Stella seems to like it that way. She likes Stanley's toughness, and she likes it even more when he begs her to come home. Their relationship seems a bit strange to most of us, and in the end, we wonder if her tolerance is dwindling. Her thoughts about Stanley and Blanche's accusations are all mixed-up.

STELLA:
He smashed all the light bulbs with the heel of my slipper!
[She laughs.]
BLANCHE:
And you--you let him? Didn't run, didn't scream?
STELLA:
I was--sort of--thrilled by it.
