Stanley is the realist in contrast to Blanche and her delusions. He sees life as cut and dry, and he doesn't exist on innuendo.... he gets to the bottom of things and finds out what he needs to know. He's a working man, he takes care of the homefront, and he feels himself entitled to a certain amount of freedom. His actions do not rely on fantasies or possibility....
