How are Blanche's description in her letter to Shep Huntleigh ironic?

Blanche's descriptions can be seen as ironic because they are anything but the truth, in fact, she herself can laugh at them and note her own deception. Blanche is not traveling, she has no money to "fly" anywhere, and her sister's family is lucky to have an apartment for her to stay in, let alone a second home on the Gulf.
