How does Tree-ear become successful?

Tree-ear becomes a success because of his willingness to sacrifice and his determination to learn. He works without pay to learn his craft, and yet, he still takes care of Crane-man in every way possible. He puts in long hours, and he shows great patience.... in the end, he becomes a craftsmen in his own right, and sets up a successful business.
