My question is why did Ajima and Min decide to change Tree ears name?

I really need to find out please help me by the way it's a single shard not any of the other choices

Min and Ajima want to adopt Tree-ear after Crane-man's death. The couple want Tree-ear to change his name and take the name meant for their second son..... both the adoption and the name are offered honorably.
