How did Tree Ear come to live with Crane Man?

Tree-ear's parents died of fever so monks brought him to his unlces. Unfortunately the uncle had moved away so they took him to the local monastery. They had the fever at th monastary but monks were told of Crane-man and they took him there. Tree-ear wanted to stay with Crane-man.
