Do you think Gene is correct in his thoughts about Finny's inner motivations? In your opinion , is Finny responsible in any way for Gene's failing his trigonometry test?

No, in my opinion Gene alone is responsible for failing his test. He was swayed by his peers (in this case Finny) to make poor decisions. But he made his own choices. As far as Finny having inner motivations...... I think don't believe he had any. He was just a kid who like to have a bit of adventure, probably the kind of kid we'd see participating in extreme sports today. He liked a challenge, and he definitely like the thrill of performing what we'd consider daring acts, but inner motivations to sabotage Gene? I think not.
