Do you agree with Gene when he states that there's no harm in envying a best friend a little?

Gene admits that he is envious of Finny, who could get away with anything. He states that there's no harm in envying a best friend a little. Do you agree with Gene? Please explain.

I think there is something to look up to or envy in every human being. Thus, to look up to a friend or envy them a bit would be only natural...... especially in teenagers.
