After the fall, Gene and Finny experience the true sense of what the real world is like. The innocence has been lost....... Gene discovers the reality of remorse, the consequences of acting upon jealous feelings. Finny, on the other hand, experiences suffering and pain, as a direct result of his often thoughtless (or not) behavior.
