Re-read pp.117-118, paying special attention to the words Mr. Linder is using. At what point do the Youngers (and the reader) understand that Mr. Linder's purpose is not to include them in the community he represents, but rather to exclude them.

I think that Beneatha Younger recognizes this as soon as this guy intoduces himself. It takes a little longer for Walter to clue in but he does the right thing in the end.
