George comes from a wealthy family. He wants Beneatha to present herself as the perfect lady..... manicured and well dressed. We might also say he wants her to emulate his own perception of "wealth", which might be perceived as a desire for her to act "white".

Joseph, unlike George, encourages Beneatha to be natural, embrace her roots, and learn about her heritage.
