A Raisin in the Sun

Does Beneatha do as he wishes? Does she let him tell her how to be a person? Why or why not? What lines from the text tell the reader that she doesn't care what George has been saying to her?

Beneatha does not bend to George's wishes and has no intention of doing so. Beneatha's response to George's comments is a dismissal.... she simply dismisses his presence.

BENEATHA I see. (He starts to sit) Good night, George.
(GEORGE looks at her a little oddly, and starts to exit. He meets MAMA coming in)
