What are some life lesson that we can learn?

We can learn lessons of hope, determination, empathy.....from this story. Certainly Beah did not deserve what happened to him. Like many children in the Sierra Leone civil war, he was left without a family. Beah needed hope to carry on. Beah had to be resourceful and determined if he was to survive. We can certainly learn empathy for refugees, like Beah, who flee war torn countries looking for a better life.
