On pg122. Ishmael writes:

"The idea of death didn't cross my mind at all and killing had become as easy as drinking water. My mind had not only snapped during the frat killing, it had also stopped making remorseful records, or so it seemed." Explain what he is saying in your own words.

Ishmael means that he had become like a machine. He had no emotion and no concept of humanity. He was simply a killing machine without remorse.
