Explain why Ishmael was, at first ,angry at the people who took him out of the army and placed him in rehabilitation?

UNICEF took the boys from the only life they could remember at that time. It destroyed the hierarchy under which they'd come to exist, they were left to withdraw from the drugs that had been an everday part of their lives, and they had to take orders from civilians.... something Ishmael found appalling.
