Do you think the younger version of Ishmael you read about in the first chapters would have thought he could perform the acts he did in this chapter? Why or why not?

That's hard to say.... Beah's actions on Chapter Fourteen are not a reflection of his true self. He has been drugged, conditioned, and manipulated to the point where he acts upon command.... like a dog who's been starved and beaten.
