Chapter 7. What does Ishmael encounter with the family while swimming in a river tell you about the effects of the war on citizens? If you were in this family's place what would you have done?

The family he met while swimming in the river didn't trust him enough to allow him to travel with them. In fact, the father of the family didn't even want to give him directions. Think about being afraid of a twelve year old boy; it's a whole other world.
