Explain what happened to Saidu when the boys were hiding in the bushes before crossing the bridge. What events that occurs later in the chapter does this foreshadow? In chapter 10

After hiding in the bushes while the white-clad people passed, Saidu becomes catatonic. The other boys have to carry him across the bridge, after which, he comes to and spits up blood. Saidu believed the figures were ghosts. The experience foreshadowed his death.
