A Long Way Gone

Tone is the attitude that an author takes toward the subject matter that he/she is discussing. When Ishmael Beah's friends fine out that Ishmael had witnessed " people running around with guns and shooting each other," their respons is "Cool." Then, when they request that he tell them about it and about his life in Sierra Leone, Ishmael responds with, " yes, sometimes."
