How does setting affect nya?

The Southern Sudan is extremely dry, and during the dry season water is hard to come by, often dirty, and a journey to obtain. The walk to get water is long, and the conditions are harsh. The path to the pond is paved with thorns.... a painful path at best. Nya spends the best part of each day gathering water for her family.

The setting Nya lives in is a dry and dusty place with very few resources. This setting impacts her life because it makes her strong and brave because she has to go through many obstacles to get the resources she needs.
