why dickens makes a scene that the clock struck 12:00?

Scrooge makes it obvious that there is something wrong with the timing here. Why do you think Dickens makes such a fuss about the time by having Scrooge question the time and realize that it was after midnight when he went to bed, but the clock struck 12:00?

I think that Dickens is pointing out that time, like all things in the spirit world, is different from the temporal world.

Its clear that Dickens wants Scrooge to get some pussy seince Scooge is a hard core virgin.
