When he goes to the window to see if the sun has disappered foreer and decides it has not ,what makes his initial response a comic.?

Scrooge attempted to fix the clock believing it was wrong rather than he lost an entire day. The humor can be found in the fact that Scrooge was far more worried that his business had gone on without him than that the sun had disappeared.

"This was a great relief, because "three days after sight of this First of Exchange pay to Mr. Ebenezer Scrooge or his order," and so forth, would have become a mere United States' security if there were no days to count by."
