Scrooge is filled with more fear and angst than he was with the previous ghosts. Scrooge is given a view of what is to come from his greed and indifference towards his fellow an. This fear is intensified by the silence of the ghost. Perhaps the greatest symbol of this stave is the grave of Scrooge that the spirit points to. Scrooge died and made no amends for his previous behavior.
