how would you characterize scrooge in stave 2 and what is a symbol for it?

Scrooge would be confused and afraid. Flying around with a ghost is definitely outside his comfort zone. I think the ghost, a disturbing combination of of a small child and an old man, is a symbol of Scrooge's predicament.
