Does Scrooge take the money from Marley's Eyes in the book?

At the beginning of the novella, (in my revision notes it says) Scrooge takes the money from Marley's eyes i believe that it isnt in the book but only the movie/s

Scrooge does not remove anything from Marley's eyes in the story, A Christmas Carol.
