The Ghost transports Scrooge to the modest house of Bob Cratchit. The Cratchit family has their best clothes on for the Christmas celebration. They await Mr. Cratchit to return from church with Tiny Tim to eat their meager dinner. Despite living in poverty, there is much happiness. The Ghost of Christmas past informs Scrooge that, unless the future is altered, Tiny Tim will die. At the dinner, Mrs. Cratchit curses Scrooge, but her husband reminds her that it is Christmas.
